Grants & Funding Opportunities

The Town of Leland actively seeks grants and other funding opportunities to fund various projects, procure specialty equipment, and provide funding for training. Grant funding allows the Town to go beyond the limits of our operational budget and provide a solution for evolving community problems. Strength Is Our Foundation Grant

Grant Denial Notification: 06/28/2022

555 Fitness provides fitness equipment to departments across the United State through their Strength Is Our Foundation Grant. 555 Fitness and Leland Fire/Rescue share similar goals of improving the health and well-being of our Fire Department. The addition of more functional fitness equipment allows our firefighters to develop greater stamina and strength, decrease the risk of injury, improve performance, increase energy, and provide a quicker recovery from strenuous and exhaustive work.

Grant Denial Notification: 08/26/2022

Founders Park Phase I (partially funded by 2021 PARTF award) will add the first splashpad in northern Brunswick County,  fitness stations, an amphitheater, a veterans memorial, an improved walking trail, additional parking, restrooms, and associated site furnishings.

The Town of Leland has requested assistance in funding Phase II of Founders Parks renovations, which include a playground, natural play area, picnic shelter, and an additional entrance.

Hometown Grant
T-Mobile
Grant Denial Notification: 08/15/2022

T-Mobile has partnered with Smart Growth America and Main Street America to help build stronger, more prosperous small towns and rural communities. The Hometown Grant program focuses on revitalizing community spaces in towns to bring people together.

The Town of Leland requested funding to go towards Founders Park renovations which includes a splash pad, an inclusive playground, natural play area, picnic shelters, fitness stations, amphitheater, Veterans memorial, improved walking trail, additional parking, restrooms, and associated site
furnishings.

Hometown Proud Grant
Kubota
Grant Denial Notification: 06/20/2022

Kubota's Hometown Proud grant program offers support, revitalization, and renovation of deserving projects in five communities. The Town of Leland has requested funding to build the area's first splashpad in Founders Park.
