North Carolina General Statute requires municipalities to keep the public informed and notified of most items of public business conducted by the Town Council and its advisory boards.
In most cases, the law requires notice to be published in a newspaper of general circulation. Typically, notices are placed under the "Legal Notices" heading in the StarNews. We also make these notices available to the public on this page. Please visit the Town’s calendar to view additional events or information for a particular meeting if applicable.
The public is encouraged to attend and participate in public hearings. Citizens can sign up for or against the hearing matter. Written comments may be received up to 24 hours prior to the public hearing date. View the Town's public comment procedure.
Please call (910) 332-4297 or email Town Clerk Sabrena Reinhardt with any questions.
