Public Records Requests

Pursuant to N.C.G.S. Chapter 132, the Town of Leland makes available to the public all records in its custody and control that are defined as public records under N.C.G.S. §132-1.

There is no charge for inspecting records in person or receiving them electronically. Copies, flash drives, or other methods of receiving records, or requests that require extensive use of technology resources, clerical and/or supervisory assistance will be charged according to the fee schedule in place at the time of the request and you will be given an estimate of the charges before your request is filled.

If you are requesting a letter or report on a property that includes current or closed code violations, site plans, permits, inspection reports, notices of violation, or other similar information, please submit for a Zoning Letter through the Evolve portal, without completing a public records request.

The Town Clerk’s Office is the official custodian of Town records. Many records of a permanent and recent nature can be downloaded from our website:

Please fill out this form with as much specificity as possible to allow staff to gather the appropriate records.
