The Town of Leland actively seeks grants and other funding opportunities to fund various projects, procure specialty equipment, and provide funding for training. Grant funding allows the Town to go beyond the limits of our operational budget and provide a solution for evolving community problems. Thank you to the agencies for recognizing the needs of our Town.
The Town of Leland has partnered with PARTF to keep pace with our fast-growing community’s desire and need for improved and expanded recreation opportunities and facilities. This exciting project will update and transform Founders Park from a basic municipal park to a hub of community activity and engagement for all Leland citizens by adding unique amenities not found elsewhere in the area.
Founders Park Phase I will add the first splashpad in northern Brunswick County, fitness stations, an amphitheater, a veterans memorial, an improved walking trail, additional parking, restrooms, and associated site furnishings.
The StRAP program aims to reduce flooding across the state's waterways. The funding received from this program will assist in the removal of vegetative debris for Sturgeon Creek, Jackeys Creek, and Mill Creek.
Art Around Town is a series of outdoor community events for all ages featuring artist demonstrations, lessons, and hands-on community art activities. These events are intended to reach community members who may not have access to or be familiar with the Leland Cultural Arts Center. With the help of professional artists, community members will have the opportunity to create one-of-kind art projects, free of charge, from an array of mediums.

Thank you to N.C. Division of Coastal Management (DCM)’s North Carolina Resilient Coastal Communities Program (RCCP) for providing technical and financial assistance to advance coastal resilience efforts for the Town of Leland. This program is funded in collaboration by:
The Leland Resilient Routes Project will identify critical routes within and surrounding Town limits. These routes could include evacuation routes, NCDOT-owned roadways, Town-owned roadways, and privately-owned roadways. The routes will be analyzed to determine how resilient each route is to coastal hazards such as flooding and storm surge. For routes that pose vulnerabilities to coastal hazards, potential solutions to mitigate the vulnerability will be identified.
The Leland Tourism Development Authority grant program assists organizations with the marketing, promotion, and execution of projects and initiatives that promote tourism in – and attract visitors to – the Town of Leland.
As our Town grows, Leland Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Recourses is committed to growing and adapting our recreational amenities and programs to meet the expectations of our community. We look forward to increasing the number of performances and events so all ages can interact at the heart of the Town, while creating memories as families, neighbors, and friends.
