Utilities to the affected area have been secured and shut off, and there's no threat to the public. Businesses and residents in the affected area can expect gas service disruptions throughout the evening as Piedmont Natural Gas works to remove damaged sections of pipe and complete repairs. They will notify affected customers when service is ready to be restored. You won’t be able to exit from Gateway Boulevard onto U.S. Highway 17, but you can enter Ocean Gate Plaza from U.S. Highway 17 and exit via New Pointe Boulevard.
