Town of Leland Adopts Age-Friendly Strategic Plan

Age-Friendly Strategic Plan Workshop

The Town of Leland has adopted its Age-Friendly Strategic Plan, marking a significant milestone in the Town’s ongoing efforts to be a community that supports residents of all ages.

This plan, developed through collaboration with AARP and input from two community workshops, reflects the Town Council's dedication to addressing the diverse needs of its residents and incorporating valuable community feedback.

“The Age-Friendly Plan allows us to take meaningful steps toward building a community where everyone, regardless of age, feels supported and valued,” said Mayor Brenda Bozeman. “By enhancing key aspects of daily life, we can create a Town that truly meets the needs of all our residents.”

The plan focuses on essential areas such as housing, transportation, social participation, and access to services. By implementing these strategies, Leland is continuing its commitment to promoting active and healthy aging, ensuring the Town remains welcoming and vibrant for everyone. The guiding principles of Leland 2045 were instrumental in shaping the strategies, actions, and priorities outlined in this new plan.
