The Town of Leland is seeking community-minded residents to engage with local governance by volunteering for a position on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Serving on a Board or Committee offers individuals the chance to actively participate in addressing community concerns and shaping the future of their Town.
The deadline for applications is Friday, July 26, at 5 p.m. Apply through the Town’s government portal.
The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is to determine when park improvements are necessary, review and recommend a comprehensive parks and recreation plan to Town Council, review and recommend a yearly parks and recreation budget, commission recreation and parks studies, and support and coordinate with staff in implementing any parks and recreation directives or plans approved by Town Council. The Board consists of seven members and meets the last Wednesday of the month on a bi-monthly basis.
Town Council will review eligible applications at an upcoming Regular Council Meeting and vote to determine the new Board members. New members will begin their three-year terms upon appointment.
