
The project intent is for the construction of a new roadway to realign Northgate Drive, create a signalized intersection, and add and extend turn lanes on Village Road. Additional work includes the pavement of roads, utility additions, stormwater detention, a new traffic signal, and the acquisition of property for right-of-way and easements.

Contractor is completing final repairs and punch list items. Town is working with engineering firm and contractor on closing out the project.
Additional design work was needed for repairs. NCDOT approved work. Next steps are to schedule contractor to complete repairs.
A field review meeting is scheduled this week with the contractor. Repair work will be scheduled with an estimated completion date of April 1.
Staff and the contractor are meeting on Feb. 20 to finalize the repair plan in preparation for a meeting with NCDOT during the week of Feb. 24.
Staff and the contract engineer are reviewing a fourth repair proposal from the designer. If deemed feasible by the contractor, it will be submitted to NCDOT for approval and subsequent construction by the contractor.
Survey data needed to facilitate repair design was completed on Jan. 3. Staff met with the original designer and the contractor on Jan. 10 to further discuss repair options and are currently awaiting an update from the designer on the status of the repair plan. The final repair design is expected to be completed and reviewed with NCDOT by Jan. 31.
A field meeting has been set for Dec. 18 to review and discuss final project punch list items.
