Mallory Creek Drive Drainage Improvements

The contractor will be out tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 to remove the fencing and stone around the two inlets along Mallory Creek Drive. Work will take place in the shoulder off the roadway. Residents are reminded to use caution when driving in the area.

All work on the Mallory Creek Drive Drainage project is now complete.  The Town will continue to monitor the area and ensure the ditches are stabilized as seeding and vegetation continue to grow. Town Staff is working to close out the project.

The Town of Leland and the contractor completed the final walkthrough of the project.  The contractor will be on-site this week to make final touches to the construction of the project.  The Town will continue to monitor the area and ensure the ditches are stabilized as seeding and vegetation continue to grow.  Cones will be placed along the edge line of the roadway when contractors are out working.  Residents should use caution when driving in the area.

Crews are scheduled to be out tomorrow, Friday, May 10, 2024 along Mallory Creek Drive from Cove Landing to Hemlock Way and Pine Cone Drive to Blue Spruce Drive to performance work along the shoulder and edge of pavement. Traffic will be diverted to an alternating one-way traffic pattern as crews move along the roadway.  Residents should expect delays and use caution when driving in the area.

Construction continues on the southside of Mallory Creek Drive from Cove Landing to Hemlock Way and is expected to finish up early next week.  The asphalt multi-use path (MUP) will be closed to all users during active construction and reopened in the evenings and weekends.  Residents are asked to use the sidewalks along St. Kitts Way in the Cove Landing neighborhood when the MUP is closed.  Residents should expect delays and use caution when driving in the area.

The Town received bids and awarded the project to Rivenbark Contracting, LLC to complete the construction of the roadside ditches.  Construction work is expected to take place in April 2024.

The Town will be advertising and bidding the project to construct new flowing roadside ditches along Mallory Creek Drive. Construction is expected Spring 2024.
