This project includes transforming the Town's former Municipal Operations Building at 187 Old Lanvale Road to a new Fire Station. This project will serve the rapidly growing area along Highway 17. The location of the new permanent, fully-staffed station will aid in reducing response times to fire and life safety events in the area.

Project Updates
On June 18, the Town held a dedication ceremony for the Grand Opening of Fire Station 53. The station is now fully open.
A Certificate of Occupany has been obtained for the building and the team is scheduling a soft opening of the station for the week of April 25, 2022.
Construction is in the final stages with items such as concrete for the driveway being poured, interior painting, kitchen cabinets, and IT installation. There is still some work to be done, however construction is nearing completion and plans are being made to transition into the new facility.
The project has been progressing with work on the admin/bunk room addition, plumbing and electric rough ins, and HVAC, as well as continuing sitework on storm drains and the retention pond.
The new addition will house the sleeping rooms for the Firefighters. Now that the slab has been poured, crews will begin framing.
Sitework, including clearing and tree removal, has begun.
The Design/Build Amendment has been signed and executed with Environments Unlimited, LLC. This is the next phase of contract documents which will allow for the building construction and sitework to proceed. Sitework is expected to begin early June.
Pre-construction architectural and and site design plans have been approved. Construction contract documents are being finalized and project will commence once reviewed and signed.
The Town issued a Notice to Proceed to Environments Unlimited, Inc. and contract documents have been signed. Pre-construction work will begin on September 21, 2020.
An RFQ has been published to gather information and qualifications from interested design-build firms.
