The Leland Police Department is excited to host National Night Out on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center (LCAC), located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way.
Everyone is welcome to attend National Night Out, which will include the opportunity to meet and engage with local law enforcement, food from Piggly Wiggly, a DJ from radio station 99.9, games, free giveaways, and a raffle for a skateboard signed by the Police Chief.
National Night Out is an annual event that strengthens partnerships between law enforcement and the community, promoting neighborhood unity and creating a safer, more connected place to live.
“We're eager to engage with our community once again at this year's National Night Out,” said Police Chief Jeremy Humphries. “Fostering strong relationships with our residents, local businesses, and partner agencies is vital to keeping Leland safe and united.”
Representatives from Leland Fire/Rescue, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, and Brunswick County EMS will also be attending National Night Out, along with other community organizations and local businesses distributing information. Law enforcement vehicles will be on display for the public in the LCAC parking lot. Parking will be available at nearby businesses.
Millions of people across thousands of communities from all 50 states take part in National Night Out every year. While some communities celebrate in August, the Leland Police Department chose the October date hoping for cooler weather and aiming to introduce residents to law enforcement officers from across the region.
