The Town of Leland is excited to announce its first Lend a Hand in Leland event of 2025. Building on the success of two previous Lend a Hand events, the Town recognized the need for more opportunities to engage the community throughout the year and is thrilled to now host this event biannually.
Lend a Hand in Leland aims to foster community pride and ownership by bringing together residents of all ages and backgrounds to participate in meaningful volunteer activities that address local needs and promote community well-being.
The next Lend a Hand in Leland will take place on Saturday, March 22, from 8 to 11 a.m., and feature five volunteer opportunities in partnership with local organizations:
- Stream Cleanup: Work with Cape Fear River Watch to clean a Leland-area watershed.
- Home Build: Assist Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity in building its first community in Leland, with tasks varying by the stage of construction.
- Trash Pickup: Join We Live Here to collect roadside litter in the Westgate District.
- Tree Planting: Help We Live Here plant trees to beautify and enhance the Westgate District.
- Walk Audit: Collaborate with AARP on a walk audit to identify ways to make the area more walkable.
All residents are invited to participate in any of these opportunities. Participants must register in advance. For more information on each project and to register, visit the Town website.
