The statewide second primary is Tuesday, May 14. Elections are managed by the Brunswick County Board of Elections in Bolivia, which is where all inquiries should be directed.
The Republican races for Lieutenant Governor and Auditor are on the ballot. Only the following are eligible to vote in the second primary:
- All voters who are registered members of the Republican party
- Voters who are registered unaffiliated and didn’t vote in the first primary
- Voters who are registered unaffiliated and voted with the Republican ballot in the first primary
In North Carolina, there are three ways you can vote: absentee by mail, early voting, and voting on Election Day.
Absentee ballots must be requested by May 7 at 5 p.m. The ballot can be returned via mail or in person but must be received by May 14 at 7:30 p.m. Absentee ballots returned in person can be taken to the Brunswick County Board of Elections office, located at 75 Stamp Act Drive NE in Bolivia, on May 14. Early voting runs through May 11. Voters may cast their ballot at the Brunswick County Board of Elections office prior to Election Day. The Brunswick County Board of Elections office, located at 75 Stamp Act Drive NE, Building H, is the only early voting location in Brunswick County. View the early voting schedule.
Voters who choose to vote on Election Day, May 14, must go to their assigned precinct. Polling locations will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters will be asked to show photo ID when they vote. All voters will be allowed to vote with or without ID. Voters who do not have an ID can get one for free from the Brunswick County Board of Elections. Learn more about ID requirements.
