2024 General Election Information

The 2024 general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Elections are managed by the Brunswick County Board of Elections in Bolivia, which is where all inquiries should be directed.

In North Carolina, there are three ways you can vote: absentee by mail, one-stop early voting, and voting on Election Day. Anyone who wants to cast their ballot by mail or on Election Day must register to vote by Friday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. Learn more about registering to vote.

Absentee by Mail

The last day to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 29. The ballot can be returned via mail or in person but must be received by Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Absentee ballots returned in person can be taken to an early voting site during early voting, or to the Brunswick County Board of Elections office, located at 75 Stamp Act Drive NE in Bolivia, on Election Day. Learn more about absentee voting.

In-Person Early Voting

Early voting runs from Thursday, Oct. 17 through Saturday, Nov. 2. Voters may cast their ballot at any early voting site in the county prior to Election Day. The Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way, is one of five early voting locations in Brunswick County. View the general election voting schedule and see all locations.

Election Day

Voters who choose to vote on Election Day, Nov. 5, must go to their assigned polling place. The polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Learn more about voting in person and find your polling place.

Visit the State Board of Elections website to learn about accessible voting options for voters with disabilities such as curbside voting, accessible voting equipment, and voter assistance in the polling place. You can confirm your registration, get a sample ballot, and find your polling place using the state’s online database.
