This paddle is a “nature hike on the water” into the Masonboro Island Nature Reserve. Enjoy a beautiful paddle into the reserve to visit to an island with a guide who’s there to keep participants safe, teach them the proper way to kayak, and show them all of the great plants and animals in local salt marshes. Supplies needed: closed toe shoes that can get wet, sunscreen, and water.
This paddle will be about a mile and a half. There will not be access to bathrooms on Masonboro Island Nature Reserve. The program fee includes the use of a kayak, paddle, and personal flotation device (PFD), which must be worn at all times on the water. Email recreation@townofleland.com with questions.
