Please be aware the smoke you may be seeing in the Leland area is from the Pulp Road Fire in the Green Swamp Game Land in Supply. The NC Forest Service is responding to the wildfire, which is burning east of Highway 211. Smoke is expected to continue for the next several days.

The NC Division of Air Quality has issued a Code Orange air quality action day for fine particulates for parts of southeastern North Carolina, including Leland. Older adults, younger children, and people with respiratory conditions like asthma are advised to limit heavy or lengthy exertion outdoors.
